Mercer County WIC Program clerical to perform the daily clerical duties associated with the operation of the WIC program. To act as a health aide in the performance of certification of individuals to determine eligibility for the WIC program.
Explain WIC program to new participant, and/or show film
Send appointment notices to participants who need to be recertified.
Pull charts for WIC dietitians.
File WIC charts.
Issue benefits according to issuance procedures.
Do necessary typing
Handle telephone communications and schedule appointments for the dietitians as needed.
Determine income and residential eligibility for persons applying for certification and recertification.
Input necessary information into computer.
Call people from referrals sent by jobs & family services and family health.
Pull & file termed charts into appropriate files.
Health aide responsibilities:
Measure and record height and weight on all participants
Perform hemoglobins on new certifications and the necessary recertifications.
End of day cleaning of anthropometric area. At the end of every work week a thorough cleaning of this area including biohazard waste is performed.
Job type: full time-32 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8am-5pm *1 hour lunch break)
Location: Mercer County WIC program (Celina, OH) **occasionally work in Darke county office to assist during training time, vacations and other staff time off**
Supervision: directly responsible to the director.
Qualifications: High school graduate of equivalent. Work with the medical field is recommended but not required. Knowledgeable in general office procedures and have good typing skills. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
